"But For What’s My Axis" Empire, is the first of three multidisciplinary performative works made in collaboration between visual artist Kara Rooney, composer Fatrin Krajka, and poets Betsy Fagin, Laura Henriksen, and Marine Cornuet. This project takes the institutionalization of language as its starting point. The overarching aim of the work is to grapple with, decenter, and disassemble a largely invisible spectre of oppression, that continues to infiltrate as well as amplify our historical, relational, and sociopolitical involvements.
